The Magyar or Hungarian tribes were the fundamental political units whose framework the Hungarians (Magyars) lived within, until these clans from the region of Ural Mountains. Hungarians, also known as Magyars are a nation and ethnic group who speak Hungarian and are primarily associated with Hungary.

The possible homeland of the Hungarians was situated at the regions of southern Ural.

Hungary was conquered by the Habsburgs in the 17th century and became an equal partner in the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1867. Following the collapse of the empire in 1918, it became an independent kingdom. After participation in World War II on the Axis side. Hungary was occupied by the Soviet Union and became a communist state. Although a liberal reform movement was crushed by soviet troops in 1956, the communist system was abandoned in 1989, and the first multiparty elections were held in 1990
